I have recently been forced to divide my group as one of my players went to australia for 5 months... I made up the story (rather rushed) that he had to go on a quest to Hades to retrive an object and the problem left my mind... But as the day of the session when i actually have to play the quest with him grows nearer, i am running out of ideas to the session. I have some ideas as to how the quest is to be handled, but i need some ideas for random encounters and small happenings to make the time in Hades and on the Fugue Plain interesting.
Can any of yo great scribes of Candlekeep help me... The session is playable and he will most likely return to the group, but i need some small details and happenings that can add some flavor to the session... Any ideas? |

I can tell you that the adventure in Hades have been played. And it was a succes beyond what i ever dared to hope for. The bladesinger i sent to Hades was hardpressed in the final battle but succeeded in his quest and emerged victorious in the land of the living after braving the vast expanses of the Fugue Plain... |

he he he... i know... But as it is during the Times of Trouble i intend to let the powers of Hades see the advantage of having a mortal to use as a messenger. He will bes send back to Faerun to locate Myrkul and give him a message from Seneschal Jergal. But he will have some time in Hades where i need some cool encounters and events... Any ideas...? |

I hope they are some very very good magic items then. Since a good number of the beings that he will run into just need to sneeze to wipe him out. |

he is the equivalent of a normal level 4 person... I know its a little low, but i intend to boost him with several magical items to help him on his way... He is being send there by Khelben, so he will provide him with some items... |

Depending on his level, this could be a bit too much for him to handle alone. |

He is a bladesinger devoted to Mystra and are going to Hades to retrieve a pin containing the trapped soul of Mystra... The party are playing in the time right after the ToT and i am giving the story a little twist... Mystras essence have been trapped in the pin and are currently in Hades and need to be retrieved in order for her to rise as a god once more... |

Well, along with many suggestions - you could make use of some lesser outsiders - Daemons (oops.. Yugoloths). That may come and whisk away said object at the exact wrong time. You could also have him meet some simpler encounters - other travelers going on a quest for the exact same item.
The planes are a wonderful place!!! :)
