I am running a Cormyrian campaign, it takes place right after the Cormyr trilogy, of course, I am adding a demented twist and the whole thing will rapidly spiraling down into ROTK lookalike.
In any case, what I do need is a complete list of more or less influential noble families of Cormyr and Sembia.

Thank you in advance, folks.

Indeed. I believe VGtC lists them as such.

Are you looking to eventually narrow the focus to a select group of noble families in Cormyr?

As for Sembia, as others have stated the novel series is your best bet. After that, I believe you as DM will be tasked with filling in any holes for your campaign.

I don't know that we've ever had a comprehensive list.. I'd go thru the trilogy again and make notation of the mentioned families, and go from there.

Besides, it's your campaign -- you can wing it a bit.

Edit: Hmm, I forgot about this list of Cormyrean nobles... I don't know how canon it is, though.

It is not canon... it seems to list extinct families as still active ( for example, the Auantivers). Also, some of the nobles have never appeared anywhere else in Realmslore.

Krash and the Hamster (sounds like some type of 70's police show ) have already provided you with some material on the nobles of Cormyr.

Sembia on the other hand will prove more difficult. The novels in the 'Sembia' series do a good job of listing off a couple of noble families here and there, but they almost always relate to those residing in Selgaunt.

Also, as I recall, both the 1e and 2e FR boxed sets name a few merchant families in Sembia, with the 2e set mentioning some in each city write-up. In addition, FRA also lists several important characters (and their families) in the profiles for most of the cities of Sembia. With a little work, you could have them represent some of the merchant noble families at play in the Land of Merchants.

Ah, now that is a good resource! Thank you, Krash!

Indeed. Neato .

Big Al, perhaps you should add a link to Krash's resource on the mainsite...

I did a list with Bryon Wischstadt and it can be found here:

http://www.realmspeak.com/heraldry/cormyr/

It's not totally up to date but has practically all the noble families of the realm.

Good luck with the Sembia one. Well, they do have that novel series in one of the sembian cities. You can surely get a list for that town (though it surely doesn't cover the rest of Sembia).

Have you tried looking through the rest of Candlekeep for the Cormyrian question? It seems that there should be a list somewhere...
