Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 18:31:13 This originally started as a post to add to the magic shop. However, since I’ve moved to a new location, I have no group with which to explore the realms with. So, I’m using this non-playing time to come up with a detailed campaign, so that when I do find a group, I’m ready to run.
So, this post is formatted somewhat oddly, since it was intended to be something else. What I’d like to have is to be “Realmsified”, to take what I wrote and add details that are uniquely Forgotten Realms, point out huge errors I’ve made and stuff like that. Basiclly, help my campaign along. I don’t have my ego wrapped up in this, so tear it apart if I’ve screwed up some essential realmsian stuff.
Thanks! Post to follow. (It’s rather long)

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 19:32:42 Chiriki, the high elf, is actually going to be distantly related to Hashiencea, the succubus, as she’s been with the family for a long time.
But the Daemonfey as they are (because the plot demands it) are unaware of Hashiencea at the moment. (And Hashiencea isn’t taking chances yet by appearing herself on the prime plane) However, your idea has a great deal of merit. A damsel in distress would work out well.
But I might save that for the (eventual) PC’s.
Also, thanks for proving me wrong on the reading thing. ^_^

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 19:08:04 Hah! You bet wrong.
The only thing that pops out immediately is that your moon elf is blond, which is not impossible, but its more likely that he would have silver or black hair. Still, there have been several moon elves in several books that have hair color not common to their normal racial traits.
I would have the Daemonfey drawn to your high elf as well. In fact, if your succubus doesn't wish to join them, you could have her play the damsel in distress as the Daemonfey are likely to seek to eliminate her, and as such she could play up her need for protection to your high elf, thus starting to ensnare him.

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 18:36:34 Hashiencea, Greater Succubus.
Hashiencea felt the pull between worlds as Venyisa stepped through the portal. Following on special paths available to her kind, she is watching the young elf grow, waiting for the moment to strike.
Hashiencea, never afraid to steal what she doesn’t have, wants to rule with an army of Fey’ri. Her primary goal is to attract breeding stock under her rule, and that includes existing Fey’ri. Hashiencea is profoundly vain, and hates ugliness. She refuses to work with many other demons unless she finds them pleasing to the eye. Orcs and Dwarves are beneath her, not even valuable as slaves.
She has yet to find just the right temptation for Venyisa, since her love for Chirki is so strong, and she has the urge to worship a good goddess for the goddess glory, not for power. Still, Hashiencea knows that no mortal is immune to temptation, and she has plenty of time.
She hasn’t spent the last 10 years waiting idly: she has other plans in motion. Hashiencea has seduced, via her agents, a drow raiding party. (Hashiencea plans on adding them to the breeding pool with her demons.) She now has the drow deep in the Sunset Mountains searching for an artifact called “The Womb of Orlla”. She is only vaguely aware of the powers of the artifact, but knows it has something to do with breeding a large population quickly. She does not know the exact location, but thinks their may be clues (or perhaps the artifact itself) in and old dwarven/Human stronghold called GrimSteel Keep. The Drow have had 2 minor skirmishes with the Zhentarim, which worries Hashiencea. She doesn’t know why the Zhent’s are so deep into the mountain range, and is alarmed that they may be searching for the same thing. Worse, the Zhentarim’s leader, Zheck Whitefire, seems to be totally immune to her succubi, and has banished one from the material plane.
-- I bet no one reads this far.
The Womb will be the center of the campaign for the players, with the NPC’s above all having roles to fill. I can probably have some work done on the Womb itself for you tomorrow. Hopefully some you expert historians will be able to help me with the timeline, as I want the artifact to be very ancient.

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 18:35:25 Lerssier “Lerse” Lounghai’in
Rogue 2/ Wizard 3 /Fighter Epic
Notable Possesions: Lerse’s Twin Blades of Harmony, Ring of the Ice Star, Belt of the Bull God (+12 Str, +12 Con, Regeneration 10). Lerse is epic level, and has been on many adventures. He could conceivably have just about any item on him, but does not have unlimited access and has no item creation feats.
Lerse is unaware that the Ring of the Ice Star is slowly bringing back his youth. Nearly 400 years old, he still has no desire to settle down. The High Forest has been 10 years of adventure, and making peace with those he has left behind. He is now eager to explore the rest of Faerun.
He is a poor leader, but an excellent teacher. Even though both Chiriki and Venyisa look to him for guidance (which makes him a little uncomfortable), he listens carefully to what they have to say before making a decision. His first impulse is usually to rush headlong into things, but only the safety of his friends and the calming wisdom from his sword prevents him from doing so recklessly.
Lerse is nearly six feet tall with blonde hair he wears in a ponytail. He is attractive, fit and charismatic. Only recently has he accepted the loss of the life he knew in the other world, and has regained his ability to enjoy life after the death of his wife.
Chiriki Moonleaf
Bard 1/Ranger 1/ Fighter 12
Notable possessions: Chiriki fights with two longswords, because of the requirements of the Lounghai’in Style. Both sword are magical and appropriate for his level.
Chiriki refers to himself as a “high elf” and shares characteristics with Faerun’s moon elves. He faithfully serves Lerse and is eager to learn all he knows. Chiriki is still slightly proud and endeavors to make a name for himself in this new world, despite Lerse’s warnings against seeking glory. He is clever and patient and tends to blend the Lounghai’in Style of sword play with careful strategy, and perhaps start a school. Proud, but not self-centered, he also wishes to spread the legend of Leres through a series of epic songs, poems and ballads he has written.
Chiriki has close cropped black hair with bright blue eyes. He is five and a half feet tall, and was considered a tall elf back home. He is friendly and quick to smile. He has, what has been called a “dangerous appeal” to him when people look at him. This comes from his succubus blood. The trace of blood is so thin, however, that it’s only benefit is a +2 to charisma (in addition to normal elven characteristics). Even Lerse’s swords don’t recognize him as an outsider.
Venyisa Hollowleaf
Ranger 8 / Fighter 4
Venyisa, like Chiriki, is a high elf. She has been a lifelong friend of Chiriki’s and would gladly sacrifice her own life for him. Before her self imposed exile, she was an apprentice hunter for her community and is well schooled in the ways of nature. She is very kind and caring, but can be the cruelest of the three elves when danger threatens. She has become aware of Lerse’s renewed youth with some interest. While they have shared a bed many times, her new interest stems from a leakage of Hashiencea’s thoughts, who would love to add Lerse to the gene pool.
Vanyisa is average size for an elf on her world, but very small here at 4’10”. Her hair is a rich brown and her eyes are nearly golden. She gives and impression of being gentle, and doesn’t react as harshly or quickly as the two males do, although she is far more quick and deathly practical when danger threatens.
Before she left her homeworld, Venyisa was attracted to the clergy of Hanali Celanil. However, the vague effects of being lightly connected to a demoness has left her confused, mainly because Hashiencea does not want Venyisa to become a servant of good. However, Venyisa still wants to get into Silverymoon and see if a temple of her patron goddess is there, if not for anything else, but to ask questions and receive their blessing. She has not brought up her small crisis of faith with the other two elves yet.

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 18:34:16 Venyisa has been Chiriki’s friend for his whole life, and his lover the past 50 years. When his family was betrayed and accused of trafficking with demons, Venyisa stood by him, knowing it to be untrue. She fled with him out of the elven forests, unwilling to leave him, thus condemning herself to the same fate as him.
Before they fled, Venyisa was a gentle woman, with a fondness for the forest and it’s peaceful and fey inhabitants. During the assault on Chiriki’s family home, she took as many things as she could, stuffing her pack full, thinking that any magic might help them survive, and any valuable could be sold. The majority of the items were sold off for coin, but she’s kept a circlet that provides some minor protection from harm.
The circlet was crafted by the elder mages of Chiriki’s family and is not only imbued with protective powers (+2 deflection bonus) but also with Nondetection (CL27). In addition, the circlet is a communicator with a Greater Succubus. The Succubus, Hashiencea, is aware that the elf is wearing the circlet, and can read her thoughts constantly, although she has not made Venyisa aware of this, instead choosing to bide her time with demonic patience. Hasheincea has also become aware of the Fey’ri that live in Faerun. The succubus is to proud to join them, instead wanting to rule and create a new, beautiful race of powerful Fey’ri. She is starting a slow process of sending other succubi to tempt the Fey’ri away from their current allegiances.

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 18:33:15 Chirike, an elf from the other world (high elf from the PHB) is Lerse’s pupil. Forty years ago Lerse booked passage on a decadent passenger ship, traveling to see a famous library. The ship was all dances and feasts, and of course, pirate bait. The ship was well guarded; both with blades and mages, but the pirates were forewarned about the ships defenses, and stealthily killed most of the protectors with magically enhanced assassins.
The pirates looted most of the ship, killed the old, and captured most of the passengers for slavery in perfect silence. Lerse was deep in trance during the attack, and only a nerve shaking memory of Shali, his long dead wife, brought him to awareness. When he went to the ships kitchen for tea, he became aware of the Pirate attack. He snuck aboard the pirate ship and freed the slaves when most of the pirates were asleep. The pirates were heavily outnumbered, and their mages were spent for the day, and the ship was quickly taken over by the freed passengers.
One of the passengers was Chirike, a young elf out in the world for the first time, fleeing treachery back home. He was the only person below decks to see has Lerse battled the pirates captain, and was instantly awed not only at Lerse’s skill, but also the fact that Lerse spared the captains life when the pirate surrendered. Wanting to learn more, Chirike swore the next fifty years of his life to Lerse if he would only teach him. Lerse refused, but instead offered to travel together for a time. Chirike agreed, but privately, he is keeping to his oath to serve Lerse.
Chiriki didn’t think twice about leaving his homeworld to travel to Faerun. Not only was he honoring his oath to serve Lerse, but also it allowed him and his lover Venyisa to escape a death sentence on his family line. Now in the High Forest, Chiriki has enjoyed testing his skills against the various monsters that live there. However, having heard of Silverymoon, he is eager to go to the town and make people aware of what he calls “The Lounghai’in Style” of swordplay. (Much to Lerse’s embarrassment)
Chiriki’s family was accused of demon summoning, and sentenced to death. Chiriki violently defended his families honor, but eventually had to flee. Unknown to him, the rumors were true; Chiriki has a taint of succubus blood, but no innate powers.

Posted - 14 Jun 2005 : 18:32:13 Lerssier (often shortened to “Lerse”) is a Moon Elf Faerun native who, at a young age, destroyed a portal to another world to halt a stream of aberrations that were coming through. Destroying the portal, however, required him to be on the other side, stranding him in a strange world.
Lerse had many adventures in this new world. His new life started with him being a Blade in the hire of a powerful wizard, to eventually defeating the arch-devil Yerzzindisch in single combat. The death of the arch-devil freed an area of land, known for centuries as the Barrens, from the clutch of Yerzzindisch, and Lerse found himself as an accidental rules of the area.
He ruled unwillingly, but fairly with the help of his friends and advisors to guide him. More an elf of action than of contemplation, when his human wife died, he abdicated the throne to his adopted son Alistar.
Lerse moved back into the world at large, and by chance discovered rumors of another portal. By this time, his great-grandchildren were mature and ruling the now powerful kingdom he had started. The pain of watching generations of his family die was unbearable, and he set off in search of the portal and, almost 200 years later, once again set foot on Faerun.
Lerse currently resides in the High Forest with only his pupil and his pupil’s lover, feeling the embrace of his native world. It’s now been 10 years since he returned, and he is eager to explore a world he calls home, but hardly knew.
---
When Lerse returned, he brought with him a number of magical items from the other world.
Lerse’s Twin Blades of Harmony.
Before the battle with Yerzzindisch, Lerse married the human priestess Shani. As a wedding gift, she presented him with her finest magical creation; A pair of mithral long swords. Shani worked for many weeks with the aid of fellow clergy and many wizards to craft these twin swords, imbuing them with powerful spells and protections.
The blades are amazingly light and sharp with a very simple and smooth design. The metal is unadorned except for a single blood groove. The crossguard is spiraled ivory, made to represent a double pointed unicorn horn. The hilt is clear, cut crystal. Seeming to float in each crystal hit is a pure white pearl that glows with faint light. The hilt is capped off with simple adamantine disks that each bear an embossed letter “L” in elvish script.
Each sword on its own has the following properties: The sword never becomes dirty or soiled, no matter what the conditions. In addition, the blade remains sharp and true, even without maintenance.
The pearl provides a soft glow, equal to that of starlight, allowing anyone with lowlight vision to see as though they were in starlight, even in magical darkness or in a totally unlit condition.
The pearl gives the possessor a +2 bonus to Wisdom as long as the swords are “possessed”. Even if the blade is separated from its owner, they still receive the benefit of the pearl, unless the owner formally gives the sword away.
The sword ignore all hardness on unworked stone or wood. A boulder can be cut easily, but a castle retains its hardness points.
The sword automatically (as a free action) reflects all Lightning Bolts and similar projectile electrical spells back at the caster. The wielder must be conscious and aware (not flatfooted) to make use of this ability. The sword does not reflect arrows with the “Shock” enhancement on them.
+4 to hit and damage, double damage to evil outsiders.
+3 dodge bonus (The sword must be drawn and wielded for this to take effect, and the wielder must be conscious and aware.)
When both sword are possessed, the following benefits apply:
Attack bonus rises to +6
Dodge bonus rises to +6
The Wisdom bonus rises to +4 (This is an unnamed bonus)
The Two Weapon Fighting Penalty is reduced by 2 (this can never equal a bonus, just a reduction of the penalty).
Anyone who is not the possessor of the blades finds them to be well crafted, but “simple“ +4 swords. Any evil creature takes 1 negative level as long as the swords are held. Any evil outsider takes 2 negative levels and 2d6 damage per round (no save).
Ring of the Ice Star
Lerse found this ring on the claw of the terrible Sorcerer-Dragon, Veschynic. Through the clever actions of another in the party, the tricky Rogue Dulbin, they lured the dragon in human form into an area too small for him to change back into his powerful dragon form and ambushed him. Only the quick thinking of the parties’ mage, Kastill, saved them in the end as Veschynic resumed his true draconic form upon his death. After apologizing profusely to city officials for clogging the sewers with a dragon, and hacking the corpse up, the adventures were able to loot the dragon’s hoard.
The ring was forged by a half-celestial woman, the daughter of one of the gods of the world that Lerse lived in, in preparation for a Godswar that took place many hundreds of centuries before Lerse arrived. She forged both the ring of the Ice Star and the Spear of Ice Star at the same time. However, before she could enter the battle, Veschynic the Sorcerer-Dragon slew her with poison and took the ring and spear back down to mortal realms where the Gods could not readily retrieve it. Veschynic kept the ring (and the corpse of the slain celestial) as his reward, and buried the spear in his home, as touching it caused him pain. Lerse and his party tracked down Veschynic for the spear, which was later destroyed by hurling it into the flesh of the Black Aspen, an ancient tree perverted by demons to bear fruit which hatched soul devouring haunts into the world.
Lerse took the Ring of the Ice Star, and upon wearing it, he was instantly made aware of most of the powers. To this day, he believes he knows all of the powers of the Ring of the Ice Star, and has never bothered to have it professionally identified.
The Ring of the Ice Star is a smooth band of Starmetal that shines a very pale blue in the light. There are no decorations or engravings on the ring at all.
The ring has the following powers:
Fire and Cold resistance 30.
The wearer is always at a comfortable temperature, regardless of how harsh the environment is or what protection from the elements if worn. The wearer is aware, roughly, of how cold or hot it might be were they to remove the ring. If the temperature is violent enough to bypass the fire and cold resistance of the ring, then the wearer takes the damage (such as being in the heart of an elemental plane, or swimming in a volcano).
Flight, on command with perfect maneuverability at speed 120’.
The wearer does not need to breath, and is immune to drowning and inhaled gas effects. (Lerse is not fully aware of this power; he believes that the ring simply allows him to not have to breath underwater.)
+4 enhancement bonus to Charisma
Immortality: The wearer of the ring never suffers the effect of old age. They continue to gain the advantages, however (bonuses to Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma). The wearer also slowly reverts to the physical appearance of adulthood if they have passed it. This does not remove scars or regenerate limbs. If the wearer is younger than adulthood, then they age normally until they reach adulthood. (Lerse has no idea this power exists at all.)
