HEllo
I just bought this book and found it pretty cool - it's well into FR history and its evolution....But I really don't like the dungeon aspect of the thing....
My question is: who masterized it , and how ? Did somebody tried to use it in a more "exploration/diplomacy" style ?

Well, I'm GMing one guy, and playing a character of my own to help him. (Don't worry, I'm not the type of GM who'll play a really good character that pretty much does all the work, or a character who makes "helpful" suggestions. All he does is join into the combat.) I suggested to this guy that he use the diplomacy method, not the hack 'n' slash method.  Anyway, we're not very far in (we just got past the Dordrien Crypts), but he allied with the Lolth worshippers who were hiding in the Crypts. Anyway, they told him About Laerala Dumian, and soon, he's probably going to ally with her. (He has +9 diplomacy, so he's not likely to make her unfriendly from her initial indifferent, unless he starts looting her backpack.) So, that's pretty much what's going on now. Of course, down the road, he won't be able to ally with the giants on the Lake of Shadows, since they hate drow. Oh well, not everybody can be on the same team ... |

Well i did it in a more diplomatic way. I made the pC's make a deal with Solom the arcmage of Sith Morcane. He wanted to get rid of the Kieransalee worshippers so he offered the Pc's shelter if they could rid him with the worshippers. But i think that the adventure encourage that too.
In only took the book as a guideline and used some of ther encounters it had. |
