Posted - 31 Dec 2002 : 05:28:49 I'm looking for other DM's that want to work on source material together for a campaign I'm going to start in Jan. The goals are to take the area past what's in the SM supplement but keep as much canon as possible (i.e, the Foclucan Bardic College can't open before late 1372). I have a lot of things I'm working on right now, here are some of them:
1. A collection of plot hooks for characters starting in Silverymoon. 2. A CC2 map of Silverymoon that includes the new south wall. 3. NPC's of Silverymoon and surrounding area (with art). 4. Economy spreadsheet of Silverymoon (complete). 5. Demographics spreadsheet of the Silver Marches (complete). 6. Information about Foclucan Bardic College (from project Silverymoon, compelte). 7. Information for Lady's college (from project Silverymoon, complete). 8. Timeline and information for Methrammar's war college (original idea)(nearly complete). 9. Compiled list of shops, taverns, etc. from canon and project Silverymoon sources (includes recent "My Slice of Silverymoon" web update)(nearly complete). 10. Tenday-at-a-time news posts from around the realms, the Silver Marches, and Silverymoon (second tenday of marpenoth 1372 DR complete, information for next tenday ready). 11. Compiled list of religious holidays in FR (complete). 12. Weather table and lunar cycle for Silver Marches (weather complete, working on lunar). 13. Excel spreadsheet with FR encounter tables for Silver Marches area from FR DM screen (first table, hills t.23 nearly complete). 14. PDF map of SM with 6-mile hex overlay for calculating travel times (complete, but I'd like to add more notes to it).
I'll gladly send anyone what I have so far or accept anything you've done for your own campaigns and try to incorporate it.

Well met! I DM a campaign that is currently running in the SM, unsure how long they will be there though. Would love to be able to add info on Silverymoon to my campaign as I am using the Silver Marches handbook and it seems that the great city needs more info on it. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Posted - 06 Jan 2003 : 02:47:39 I've settled on a combination of some ideas for the first major plotline in my game.
1. The PC's meet a young lady from Waterdeep who has built a villa on the south side of Silverymoon. I'm using Nesher from the SM Project material.
2. The PC's are asked to either go to the moonwood or go with her to find her brother, who was supposed to meet her for her birthday (I'm hoping the PC's can meet her at her party).
3. They find her brother in his logging camp working hard but many of his workers have left. The ones that are still there stop working before dusk and retreat to a fortified tree platform.
4. Lord Nesher didn't travel to Silverymoon because of the full moon, in the many attacks by the people of the blood he's suffered many losses and been cursed with lycanthropy.
5. He seems pleased to see his sister but he's very tired and not comforted while she is there. He will try to get the PC's and his sister to leave before dusk. If they stay, he doesn't stay with the others in the tree but instead goes into the forest to meet his pack.
6. The pack is being pushed closer to town and the logging camp because of the actions of the cleansing blade. The only thing that has saved the camp so far is the fact that Nesher is now a werewolf, however he isn't getting much rest.
7. Since the raids on the camp have stopped, Nesher isn't worried about the werewolves attacking while his sister is there, but the pack is fighting for territory in the moonwood and he knows that the elves are getting closer.
8. If the PC's leave the camp, the elves attack, make it look like a werewolf raid, and leave no survivors. If the PC's stay, Lord Nesher is killed in the forest and does not return to camp in the morning.
9. The PC's have many options here but basically there will be some groups that will help and some others that will not. I plan to have the Zhents funding the camp so they can share in the lumber for a new fort in the SM. When Nesher dies they come to collect or take over the camp. The Harpers don't want evidence of the cleansing blade's existance to leak out. The Argent Legion is sworn to protect and if they are called and are given good information about where to find the elves or the lycanthropes, will strike at them with or without PC help.
Ideas, suggestions, etc are welcome. |

Posted - 04 Jan 2003 : 03:18:38 I'd like to see or help develop some concepts of what the major groups of the north are doing, planning, and faced with. Nothing epic mind you, just the "between-the-lines" sorts of things that will happen as time passes ahead of the current canon timeline.
For instance, I thought that the Zhents would try to fortify their small village of Newfort and possibly build another one, breaking ground right after thaw of 1373. The only problem is that they are encroaching on a forest where the Eldreth Veluuthra are active. This may or may not allow the new town to succeed. Parties to be involved will include:
- Argent Legion (suppose to protect all SM settlements) - Harpers (can't let the existance of the Eldreth Veluuthra become common knowledge although somewhat sympathetic to the elves) - The Zhents (protecting their investments, their plans are still not known) - Eldreth Veluutra (they're drawing a line in the sand, testing the mettle of the Silver Marches since that could pose a serious threat to their forests) - Druids of the north (they may be sympathetic to the elves) - Moonstars (who knows what they're up to) - The PCs (could become pawns for any of the above or have their own role to fill)
The same thing can happen around Deadsnows now that so many people are going there to find gold. |

Autosponge,
What type, or rather what style of material are you looking for. I have recently submitted a small article to the head-scribes of Candlekeep for review. This was something in the style of 'Elminster Speaks'. Personally I like to read the source material present in such a way. It makes for a nice read and gives more of an authentic Realms feel. |

Posted - 31 Dec 2002 : 19:04:11 I understand. I'm not connected with project Silverymoon, although I like and respect the work they've done and I've tried to contact them but their project seems to be on hold and the participants are unreachable.
I'm 29 winters young and recently relocated to a college town. I'm pulling out my bag of tricks only to find that much has been outdated or updated by 3e sources since the last time I ran the realms.
Since project Silverymoon has been no assistance, and the WOTC FR boards are littered with spectators, I'm trying my requests on other prominent forums that I hope will gain me some interested collaborators.
The plan for my campaign involves fleshing out the Moonstars, the new role of the Harpers, the increased fervor of the Cult of the Dragon, and the quiet role of the Zhents. All the while building toward chaos and mayhem at the hands of the Arcane Brotherhood, the Fey'ri, Gerti the frost giant maiden, the shades, and the orc hordes.
There will be plot hooks and current source info for all of them (eventually) so that 10 DM's running from the same collection will still not have the same game. This should also allow groups of most adventuring levels to find challenges. |

Posted - 31 Dec 2002 : 11:00:53 Well met AutoSponge,
I might be mistaken , but from your post you seem to be linked to the SilveryMoon Project. Anyways, I'm running a (PbeM)game in the Silver Marches area (Olostin's Hold currently) and I'm trying to stick close to canon as possible using the published source material and me own imagination. Your question for help is intrigueing, but I'd like to hear a little more about your plans and maybe a little more about yourself as well before making any commitments. Your post comes a little 'out of the blue' so to speak and your profile doesn't provide any clues either.
