Posted - 28 Aug 2004 : 00:25:20 Due to the complexity of Hellgate Keep, I'm going to break the module in two and submit only for the first two dungeon levels.
That way, my outline won't see so monstrous. |

That seems like an appropriate decision, given both the history and complexity of a dungeon such as Hellgate.
But, why are you posting this? Are you fishing for suggestions, offers of help...?
It helps me think . . . Yeah, your right, I'm a moron.
Actually, I wanted to post my appreciation and awe of how the suggested Dungeon Map was complex. Over 150 potential encounter areas, five levels of fun. I don't envy who whoever wrote it and mapped it the first time.
Edit: quote: Sounds like theres going to be some information on a Hellgate keep campaign posted here at some point to me.
Well, pray that my submission gets past the gatekeepers and to the right people. Although, if Ed Greenwood was in Charge, he'd be the ultimate Gate Keeper.

I am running my players thru Hellgate Keep right now, which has not changed for the better I'm afraid. The treants are having a time keeping the evil contained and its presence is corrupting the forest around it. Even some treants are not safe from it vile presence.
So far they've slogged thru the High Forest running into all sorts of trouble. For "shock and awe" Turlang made a small cameo, stomping out their campfire with one massive foot and giving them glowing fungus to light their evening. Once they finally convinced the treants near the entrance to let them thru their first encounter inside the keep was a ghour. Ghour's converted to 3.5 are just nasty, they almost were done for right there! We left off there for the evening and will be starting up again this weekend. I can't wait!
I can't wait to read about it. :) I hope the players are smart enough to avoid TPK!
Edit: In Silver Marches, Hellgate Keep didn't change for the better. It's a great adventure hook, though. |
