Hey Alaundo you might want to think about contacting this guy and asking him if hes interested in hosting the article at Candlekeep |

Posted - 11 Jul 2004 : 14:14:54 Oh, that's okay . I'd thought you may have had the specific dates handy. I've been "archiving" some of my own information from the WotC boards, I was simply curious as to whether I might have already saved some portion of what you've presented here.
I'll check through my archives anyway, just to be sure.

Posted - 11 Jul 2004 : 13:49:24 thx for the compliment! as for the age of this lore: please specify which articles you refer to. most of the time, i do not include the date of the information i "archive away", though mostly it´s possible to use the url (if existent) to check the date. |

One question though... How old is the material that you've picked up from the WotC boards?

There's no "perhaps" about it. As a scribe of Candlekeep, it is your duty to compile all the Realmslore you can find and bring it here for publication...
I'm kidding of course. Seriously, I'd be interested in seeing some of this lore collected from other sources.
a head pops out of a veritable mountain of tomes, old crumbling vellum scrolls and other loose papers "i´m sorry, what did you s...? oh, he´s gone... now what did the sage tell me? something about... duty,... compiling... publication...?" ruminative frown, thoughtful scratching of a tousled head "well, so be it. i hope they like it!"
i compiled three tomes, every one of them a painstakingly detailed folio (pdf). unfortunately, they are too large to upload them as pdf and the host i use does not accept zip-files. after downloading http://i.domaindlx.com/chefseehund/adnd/cormyr/cormyr.tip , rename it in "cormyr.ZIP". i hope this time the link works!
if it does not work, here the single tomes, seperately and carefully wrapped zero-ignitable parchment (ZIP):
http://people.freenet.de/chefseehund/Cormyr-Military.zip http://people.freenet.de/chefseehund/Cormyr-Nobles.zip http://people.freenet.de/chefseehund/Cormyr-WarWizards.zip
disclaimer: wherever possible, i included the url of the scrolls i transcribed. scrolls without url are not necessarily my own work! beside that, i have not asked the scribes for permission; should one of them be displeased with my impertinent behaviour, i will take out his or her works. |

see above, i mirrored it: http://people.freenet.de/chefseehund/cormyr-army.pdf
somewhere in my archive i´ve stored away more lore regarding cormyr from different sources (candlekeep, the realms-list, wotc-boards, etc.). perhaps i should bring it together and compile it as well...
Agh, you posted the corrected link while I was commenting!

thx @ dargoth for posting the links, and above all: thx @ jerry for writing such an awsome compilation!
for ease of better reading, i compiled all five postings, added a 2nd-edition map of cormyr and put all together into one pdf: http://i.domaindlx.com/chefseehund/adnd/cormyr-army.pdf
i don´t want to take credit for other writers works., so if someone feels annoyed by my bungling with other peoples works, please say so (i won´t be offended) and i´ll delete it.
[edit] domaindlx.com seems to be unreliable, therefore an alternate link: http://people.freenet.de/chefseehund/cormyr-army.pdf [/edit]

Domo for posting the edited link. That one works much better. |

Glad to see he's finally posted it.
Thanks Dargoth .

Posted - 08 Jul 2004 : 08:46:25 Well met
Indeed a very interesting collection of scrolls. Thank ye for bringing these over to the library, Dargoth. I will certainly seek the scribe who penned these and hopefully obtain a copy to display here at Candlekeep. |

I can safely say that you are, with absolute certainty, not the only one. My vote makes two, I believe.
For now, though, I can but hope.

Posted - 08 Jul 2004 : 04:08:53 My "Cormyr Project" is a continual work-in-progress, with breaks in the building for the progress of actual work. I hold out hope against reason that it will see print. Should anyone from WotC inform me that 'it's crap,' I shall be happy to defiantly share it with all, but for the moment, to continually update a file so would be counter-productive. You're free, however, to send the file to your players, or to post it temporarily where they can find it, but I'd really rather not have a file of my work compiled and available for download by all. It may sound strange, but I've not yet reached the point where that sort of thing benefits me; if anything, it may hurt may chances of getting what I (and you, thank you) consider good lore into print.
Until such time as a Cormyr book hits the shelves, I'll be doing my best to grab hold of coattails and get on board. Hopefully, certain folks who have read what I've written will let certain other folks in on its secrets, so that the other other folks who write the checks will send one over my way. There is far more to what I've put together than lists of noble ranks and military units, but I have been advised to keep these under my hat, at least for the time being. |

Posted - 08 Jul 2004 : 03:50:06 Wow!! this is a nice piece of work! awesome!
Garen, how is your Cormyr project coming along? any chance it will get published? if not, I wouldn't mind reposting the info you posted on the REALMS-LIST on my website... (my modified version of your write-up, as you remember -- I had drawn a good chunk from your write-up - noble system most specifically - and adapted it to my homegame; my players found it useful and would like me to post it again, providing you are not intending to use this stuff comercially anymore...) |

Posted - 08 Jul 2004 : 02:17:25 An extremely interesting read. While I don't agree with all of it, Jerry's work is well thought out and developed, and were I looking for someone else's portrait of the Purple Dragons (that is, had I not already painted my own elsewhere), I'd certainly be happy to poach from his work. |
