Are all Githzerai male? And Are all Githyanki female?
Or they are different races?
I am so confused about that

I have a lot of information on these races of Gith. What particularly are you looking for?

Also, as an additional - Githyanki inhabit the Astral Plane. The Githzerai occupy the roiling chaos that is Limbo...

AOL? What FR organization is that?

If I recall, wasn't there a recent Dragon or Dungeon that focused on the githyanki?

AOL: Arcane Order of Loviator, they profese to bring great things to people in comunication, but all they bring is suffering.

LOL! Yes, I suspected that my past alliances with this organisation of evil were the cause of my upset. I think merely by mentioning its name we have dispelled its hold on me, though... for now!!!!!!

(Btw: I've actually copied WK and AL's write-ups of 'AOL' onto the hard-drive as an actual FR org. It is just too perfect!)

Thanks also for informing be about the 2e MM Gith, AL. I had always wondered how they fitted in, so I just assumed they were what had become of the original slaves.

Thanks for providing a confirmation at least. All I could recall was either the cover blurb from one of the magazines or perhaps the way someone described it on a messageboard: Githyanki Invasion! or something like that. Real subtle. The person who thought that up must be doing the promos for Eberron.

I see by the responses to my jape that AOL is as popular here as other messageboards I've frequented in the past.

They're a very shadowy and evil organization whose true intentions remain unknown. Like the Zhentarim, their members can be found just about anywhere. However, a noticable difference between AOL and the Zhentarim is that the latter organization is comprised of evil, ambitious beings, while members of AOL come from all alignments and all walks of life. Many are good or neutral, and are the unwitting dupes of this malicious group. While intending nothing more than going about their daily lives, these misguided beings often spread AOL's clutches even further, advancing the nefarious aims of the group. Many good organizations, including the Harpers and the Tel'Teukiira, have fought against AOL's expansion, to no avail. Several evil organizations, seeing the success of AOL's shadow campaign, have also tried to stop them. So far, none have succeeded. Agents of both the Iron Throne and the Red Wizards of Thay are known to be seeking audience with the Masters of AOL, perhaps with the intention of forming an alliance.

It is also rumored that AOL was behind the recent return of Bane.

No offense to those who access this site using that particular Evil Empire!

If I need to say it, it was actually in responce to Sarelle's "Query Variable dcmp not found" question)

It was all about haveing the githyanki invade your campain world.
They called it "Incursion" campain.

So we have: Gith (the originals), Githyanki (evil astral plane psionic fighter/knight types), Githzerai (lawful astral plane and Limbo psionic monk type Githyanki sworn rivals), Githvyrik (mysterious, ultra-rare githyanki-like rogue types), and Pirates of Gith (spelljammer space pirates of Githy descent).

PS. Is anoyone else keep getting a pop-up that says "Query Variable dcmp not found" when accessing the wizards site? Its really bugging me and I bet it is just my stupid computer.

Actually, Gith are an offshoot that anded up settleing on the world of Athes (Dark Sun campain setting)
They are all desended from Human stock, it was a leader named Gith that lead the revolt agenst Mind Flayers that held them as slaves.

If I recall correctly, the latest book in the Erevis Cale trilogy has a villian that is some type of githyanki/githzerai.

Another question: Other than the similarity in name, are Giff anything to do with Gith and the other variations/Races?

My bad, I dind't realize the Pirates of Gith were in that tome. I shall have to check that out when I get home.

Giff and gith are utterly non-related. Giff are hippotamus (sp?) like humanoids. They're highly militaristic and love blowing stuff up. Giff are another race that originated in Spelljammer. If you want more info on them, you'll have to wait until I get home.

Originally it was a single race which won its freedom from slavery to the illithids with the help of an individual named Gith. In the years following their release, two factions arose that began warring, the githyanki and the githzerai. Over time, members of these two factions developed physical differences so that they no longer could be considered to be the same race.

A third faction fled into space, and became known as Pirates of Gith. They had a seriously nifty ability: if they were on an elven ship (one of the living ones), they could take the whole thing into the Astral Plane!

Of course, I've not seen any mention of these guys since Spelljammer died...
