Hello, everyone.

I'm considering running the "Mere of Dead Men" series from Dungeon Magazine in my current campaign.

Or, at least, the very first module, "The Slave Vats of the Yuan-ti", which is quite interesting.

However, since my PCs are from Daggerford, I was thinking about using Lizard Marsh instead of the original location.

Anyway, does anyone has ever tried this? How did it go? Is the Lizard Marsh big enough to accommodate all the adventures?

As i can see, the only that would be more difficult to adapt would be the last one, Eric Boyd's "Eye of Myrkul", since it's heavily tied to the Mere's history and lore.

I recall locating this one somewhere near the coast of the Moonsea for the Ruins of Adventure (Pool of Radiance) module.

According to this module, Lizardmen are apparently a common monster encounter in the region. And they're directly involved in a few of the mini-stories.
Although in my opinion that area would be a little too cold (and too populated by other races) for them to be comfortable.

Unless the PCs are expery historians (and even then... ) they would probably not know the background, and would only learn the background during play (if at all). You can keep the essentials (twin monarchs and all the consequences of that) and have that take place where the Lizard Marshes are now. If they know the official history of the area, it's an oportunity for a "you thought you knew, but this is what actually happened" moment.

As for size, you could just make the Marshes a bit bigger the south side. In canon, there's not much written about that stretch of the coast. (To the north, you get close to the Dessarin estuary and Waterdeep if you expand the marshes.)

My players are most definitely not "Realms Historians". Quite the opposite, in fact. So I guess "Eye of Myrkul" could work with the Lizard Marsh.

I'll run "Slave Vats" very soon, and then I'll see what happens next.

The only one I don't intend to run is "Scaly Things", because I think it relies on some heavy railroading on the DM's part, and I don't like to do that to my players.

Anyway, thanks for replying, Thauramarth.
