Ok, well, I've been ridiculed a touch in other forums for this idea, but people here are so much more welcoming to ideas. Originally my idea was for all of Faerun, but I've come to realize that had alot of inherant logistical problems (raw area) so I've toned it down alot, and I'm going to attempt making a few towns/cities and some of the wilderness area's of The Western Heartlands on tabletop, in scale for use with the Minatures. I reside in Ontario, Canada, so if anyones close and interested feel free to email me at Evans_j@sympatico.ca but anyhow, aside from that, I'm more interested in peoples thoughts on this. Does it sound interesting to you, would you be interested in seeing it after it's progressed some, perhaps even coming to play on it if I could open it to the D&D community. What do you all think? Cool, not cool, mildly interested, really interested, etc, etc?

Thank you for the suggestion on Volo's guide, I'm not sure if I've gotten it in yet or not, I'll have to look again. I've been buying alot of books that are out of print off of ebay. great source for that stuff. I finally got a copy of the interactive atlas. (wallows in it's glory) and thank you Captain Charlie for the link, I'll have to check it out. As for how serious this project is, well, in a bare 3 months, I've collected over a thousand minatures, and am still going. If any of you have checked out our website, I appologize for it's not being updated for awhile, both me and my fiancee/webmaster, have been quite busy as of late, but I hope to get some more work done on it this weekend, as it's going to be a "down" weekend for us both. just kind of relaxing around here. If you haven't seen it yet, I encourage you to, and pop in regularly to see whats going on. as I said, we've both been busy as of late, but I hope to get more done soon.

Kazaa? Is that a D20 publisher for Baldur Gate products?

I believe our friend is insinuating that you use the peer to peer file sharing system known as Kazaa Lite.

Now, if the title of this thread means anything, I do have an excellent link to a site that has around a thousand free counters made from the released wizards art, ready for printing. I strongly suggest you check it out if you have any interest in using minis, figs, ort any such system for combat. A treasure trove of free tokens

interesting YRM, that magic shop is rather nice, I like it. that "voidgamers.com" do they sell buildings or something? or is it just a group building for their own use? if you've been to our website, we have an email listed there, email us, I've a few questions for you I'd rather not fill up candlekeep with. or feel free to post on our little forum if you prefer.

PS: as an update to everyone, there should soon be some pictures up from the startings of my keep, it's just the cutout of the basement, May 24 weekend, me and Canyia are going to be doing some serious work on it I hope, so there should be more pictures and so forth that weekend. thought I'd let you all know.

I've built four buildings now out of Hirst Arts, pretty large, usable inside and out, for D&D purposes.

Two of them can be found here.

I recommend checking out the HADD contest winners as well.

Well, I haven't posted in here for a bit, been kinda busy, but yeah, you should check out the journal for an update, but as an FYI I went out and bought 128 minatures today, so pictures of them will be up this weekend, with mebe a couple ticklers through the week if I can get the pics taken and sent to Canyia to put up there. All I'm gonna say about what I got is, I'm smiling, so hopefully you'll be happy to see them too.

Well it took working a few kinks out but we finally have that forum up and running. now if Karesch will get of his butt we'll have the whole page done by tonight. If Karesch gets around to it
Karesch Posted - 20 Apr 2004 : 04:29:24
Well, seen a few hits on the site so far, what's the general though so far? Anyone even like what we got. it's a bit bare yet, but I mean, for a week's work in HTML, it's moving along pretty quickly. It'll be more meaty in the next couple days, with some of the pages being filled up. And well, pictures will come as construction goes on. So look to see some more soon.

Karesch if you are still looking for an official map of Baldur's Gate then check out the Forgotten Realms Adventures Tome. This is a 1st edition (I think) book, which details the Realms and just so happens to contain a map of BG. If you cannot get your hands on this Contact me and I will send you a *cough* copy of the map *cough*

I say, well done site. Well done indeed. A question though, how does one join the fourms?
Canyia Posted - 19 Apr 2004 : 17:25:38
Hello all,

Well, we finally put up some pictures. These are just of the WotC miniatures we have, we're going to show pictures of the keep in progress next week. The site isn't complately done yet. We should have most of it finished by tonight at 11:00pm Eastern Standard Time. We'll be putting blurbs underneath the pictures tonight and finishing off the About The Creators section. Then there's only the About Project Realms section to go which will be done whenever Chad get's around to it

There's no rush Karesch . I know how difficult it can be to get a site on the web up and running properly. Just take your time, I'm sure we'll all enjoy your efforts once the work is completed.
Karesch Posted - 17 Apr 2004 : 18:03:00
Well, I'm sorry to announce, we ran into a bit of a wall with launching the site, and unfortunately it's going to be delayed... *dives for cover as the fruit and various hard objects start flying* I'm going to try and right this as fast as I can, but it looks like it's going to be at least a couple days before the keep can be started, Sorry folks. I'll try and keep you all up to date.

Karesch Posted - 14 Apr 2004 : 21:18:07
Alas, I'm home from work and I see my lovely fiancee has been hard at work checking up on me and building our site ;) I do love her so. The site address will be posted probably friday night or saturday afternoon, so you can all look forward to your first glimpses of what we're doing then. There's little point in posting an address to a blank site though. So we'll say the official opening will be Saturday afternoon so ya'll can have something to look forward to :)
Anyhow, still looking for map ideas, if anyones got anything? Building my keep will probably only keep me busy a couple days, and once I'm done that, I'll be itching to do more, so all the help people can think of would be most excellent.

K
Canyia Posted - 14 Apr 2004 : 19:14:03
Well of course there's an adress but there's not much point in posting it since there's nothing on it except a message board.
The Sage Posted - 14 Apr 2004 : 08:22:09
So, I assume then, that there is still no site address...?
Canyia Posted - 14 Apr 2004 : 08:13:38
Insomnia has done quite the trick for me tonight. I've started up Project Realms and added a message board to it. I can't wait till we start things of in the next few days so I can make the site meaty
The Sage Posted - 14 Apr 2004 : 06:58:49
I may ask the Lady Kazandra to send a few suggestions over to you then. Since my free-time is limited, she has taken it upon herself to be largely responsible for the creation and design processes involved with my own website for the PbEM campaign I'll be running.

While they are both differing themes, both the purposes behind your website and mine, the spread of ideas can only be a good thing...
