Posted - 09 Jan 2014 : 06:51:25 I enjoyed it, despite my dislike of 'Far Realmsian' stuff (although its not so bad, just Pandorym himslef, and even then, not out-of-line with other FR lore).
I'm also not a fan (at ALL) of High Imaskar... but like I said, I still liked it. I've never questioned Bruce Cordell's writing talent, merely his tastes. For instance, the artificial implants/limbs were a bit odd, but it fit the story, so it was fine - weird, ancient Imaskari tech is kinda cool.
As to why Pandorym didn't get out and run amok, you really need to read the book. It wasn't quite like that. |

The novel Darkvision by Bruce Cordell, explains this. It also sets the stage for the return of Imaskari to the surface. |

Posted - 17 Dec 2013 : 13:00:16 I know not all deep imaskari moved to High Imaskar with Ususi and that before Pandorym killed all those deep imaskari in 1374 there were less than fifty thousand of them. I can also tell you that the population of Skyclave in 1479 is roughly eighteen thousand but I have no idea what percentage of that figure are deep imaskari.
The Player's Guide says that the only race other than deep imaskari living in High Imaskar are tieflings and then mostly only in Gheldaneth but remember that when a book talks about humans in High Imaskar, they are in fact talking about deep imaskari. |
