Hello...

Was reading stuff on Dicefreaks... and saw that a lot of creatures had an Insight armor bonus... How do my PCs get that???

I have also seen, that some creatures have a very high amount of natural armor bonus... how do one calculate the right amount of natural armor bonus for a creature? Is it based on HD or something else?

Could one not say that it would be plausible to give insight bonus as an epic feat? I mean an epic character would be able to anticipate how a lot of fights would go, and therefore be able to accommodate the thread! Or is this too much?

I'd say it's absolutely plausible and that such a feat ought to use similar epic feats that give bonuses as benchmarks, with a possibility of one point less of bonus since it is a less common form of bonus, thus stackable with a greater number of spell effects or magical items.

Yes some Jedi were very good at seeing possible futures, the ability however offered possibility based on actions. Insight clearly would work the same way, a better chance of a good outcome. Errors of course were made in some fore looking.

I would look to Wis and or Int (maybe Cha) as base stats for Insight. Certainly could make a feat if prerequisites are in place. As to what you decide, a combination of stats and levels, remember the NPCs should get the same.

About the natural Amor class. I know that some creatures have a tough skin of something like that... but some or a lot of the creatures on Dicefreaks have more than +30 natural armor bonus. That to me seems a bit much. Take Kezef, the Chaos Hound. It has a natural armor bonus of +34. I know that Dicefreaks is just one write up, but it’s a lot. The Elder, Titanic dragon called IO has a natural armor bonus +80...

Is there not a kind of table? So one could calculate the correct number based on race, and HD?

-As I recall, insight armor class bonuses come from characters 'knowing' an attack is coming, and being better prepared than if the attacks were not. Think of it as the opposite of being flat footed, or surprised, or whatever it is that gives you a penalty. With that, players have no clue that an attack is coming, so they get a penalty. With insight bonuses, the character knows that an attack is coming, so they get a bonus. Certain spells, presumably divination spells, give insight bonuses, as to the class abilities of a handful of PrCs.

Insight Bonus

An insight bonus improves performance of a given activity by granting the character an almost precognitive knowledge of what might occur. Multiple insight bonuses on the same character or object do not stack. Only the highest insight bonus applies.

Natural Armor Bonus

A natural armor bonus improves Armor Class resulting from a creature's naturally tough hide. Natural armor bonuses stack with all other bonuses to Armor Class (even with armor bonuses) except other natural armor bonuses. Some magical effects (such as the barkskin spell) grant an enhancement bonus to the creature's existing natural armor bonus, which has the effect of increasing the natural armor's overall bonus to Armor Class. A natural armor bonus doesn't apply against touch attacks.

Some clearly are based on core nature of base creature, some appear to occur based on spell effect.

Insight bonus I do not see a direct way for any character to get, though it might be there someplace.

Edit: Did some more research, some spells provide Insight bonus. Some for attack, some for AC. Moment of Prescience and Foresight for example. Epic rules also appear to offer much better possibility. This I pulled from the 3.5 SRD search.
