Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 09:06:26 I was mainly wanting to know what kind of numbers a god is likely to have on their ability scores. Supposedly they become "exceptional" or some such but what is this? 20, 30 or maybe even higher? If a "depends on edition" comes up then I'm primarily concerned with 3.0/3.5 but would also appreciate any other version. I'd also appreciate it if you could also say where you got this info from but that's minor really. |

Possibly the 3e Deities & Demigods tome?
Yes that's the one.
That's pretty much the same format as "Faiths & Pantheons," though it could be argued that there should be some differences between the Core D&D demi-human gods and their Forgotten Realms counterparts. Also, deities like Garl Glittergold differ in alignment between campaign settings. In Core D&D, Garl is Neutral Good, while in the Realms, he's Lawful Good. |

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 23:28:51 In 3.X, a stat is considered 'perfect' at 50. For example, Sune has 50 Charisma, Mystra has 50 Intelligence and Tempus has 50 Strength. Nothing forbids a character from exceeding that limit, but I cannot really understand how that would be possible. But hey, its 3.X, so there's got to be a way!
Check Faith and Pantheon for their full stats. |

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 13:52:08 Due note that those stats in the 2e books are not for the gods, they are for their avatars. Only the stats in the 3e book are for the gods, not their avatars. In 2e, the gods had no stats. |

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 12:23:40 Faiths & Avatars, Powers & Pantheons, Demihuman Deities and 3e's Faiths & Pantheons should provide you with enough stat-related info for the deities of the Realms. |

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 11:25:52 Thanks Fingal, I'll have to get those books. Guess I'll try to track down that 3e book. If anyone knows of it or any other please don't hesitate. |

Posted - 24 Feb 2011 : 11:17:41 Don't know about third edition but there are several 2e books that stat out gods in detail. For the realms specifically, 'powers and pantheons', 'demihuman deities' and a third volume whose name escapes me right now, provide stats, lore and all manner of interesting stuff. 'on hallowed ground' does the same for Planescape and is every vit as good, if not better.
There was a 3e book too but i've never read it. Can't remember the name either i'm afraid. |
