Posted - 21 Feb 2011 : 00:31:41 Does anyone have an excellent grade scan of the Grey Box map of the Sembia area that they would be willing to link here in this thread that they don't mind me stealing?
I like a lot of the maps out there right now, including MTs and McCaleb's; but I want just the original map.
My scanner isn't "putting out" for me the way I want it...getting too many crinkles.
Any help? |

EDIT: Got the first one up - I had to clean it up quite a bit. Those Gray Box maps, much like their owner, have become old and are falling apart.
EDIT2: And the second one is up - The 2e version. Cormyr and Sembia have an angled (and ill-defined) border, so I had to past two maps together to get it all in. To really see the entirety of that image, you will have to right-click on it and hit 'View Image'.
Note to self: If I ever win Lotto, get a BIG scanner.
Your Karma has increased greatly good sir...as always you have my greatest gratitude...if not my money. |

I actually found I already have a copy of that on my HD, but the resolution isn't so great (which means I probably found it on the web somewhere, and didn't scan it myself).
I just loaded it into PS and it's crap - I will make a better one for you now.
Thanks MT, I really appreciate it!
I'm going to be needing it for my All Wizards Cult of the Dragon game I'm running...going to be fun! |

Posted - 22 Feb 2011 : 02:14:56 Mainly, I just want a basic map; such as the 1e map and its listed locations. I don't have the 2e map, or even a digital copy of it.
I didn't want any later editions because things got a lot smaller!
So essentially, if anyone can get me a good scan (minimal wrinkles) of either 1e or 2e Sembia (and environs is fine) I'd be really appreciative!
I might even say thanks! |

As I understand it, the two FR trail maps are fashioned from the perspective of the place they're named for. So the Waterdeep Trail Map is what a Waterdhavian mapmaker knows, and is way accurate around Waterdeep and not-so-accurate when it gets to the other side of the map, and ditto for the Kara-Tur Trail Map. |

Posted - 21 Feb 2011 : 23:34:54 Have you seen THIS?
Unless you need something larger, centering just on Sembia.
Or did you want just the 'bare bones' with the major settlements, like it was in 1e, without all the 'extras'?
Or do you actually want/like the 1e version for nostalgic reasons? I can do whatever you like - even strip locales out of the 2e map (the 2e map was a little better drawn). If not, Tuesday.
Out of curiosity, why the 1e map? Something different about it from the 2e? (which looks a lot better, but still has that 'Ed original' feel)
Well, I had honestly forgotten the 2e map! LOL
I just want a scarcity of details on the map was the main reason I was asking. It will allow me to move forward from 1355 DR with my own plans, locations and etc... |
