In the 4e campaign I'm ruuning one of the players plays a eladrin (moon elf) wizard, and her ultimate goal is to restore the Weave.

What would it take to achieve this?

*Warning: Shameless self promotion to follow!*

I actually wrote a speculation about the Weave and the Seldarine that you might find useful over here: http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13461

If you want some exotic or extraplanar locations, the smouldering wreckage of Mystras divine domain is still floating around in the astral. Perhaps the last piece of the puzzle is there, or she has to sit on Mystras now vacant throne to complete the reconstitution of the weave?

I would simply, just make them hunt down lore, that would somehow do somthing so powerful that they could achieve or go around what ever laws of magic there is now.

Also, you could put in some sort of acient entity Ioulaom or something that held that kind of knowledge from times lost.

Maybe gain acces to some realy powerful artifact.. The Ring of Winter andd do some ritual...

If you just get it started, the choises your characters make, would point you in some direction of where to get the power.

Indeed!

Demigod ED already assumes that you ascend to someone's godly court or become a free agent, so perhaps various parties who want influence over the soon-to-be new goddess of magic are taking steps to, er, 'persuade' her to cooperate or even abdicate the power?

It would probably take a lot, basically...

Is there any particular bit of this quest you want help with, or just general ideas for inspiration? Restoration of the weave and the goddess of magi has been a frequent topic of conversation here, so there should be plenty of stuff floating around.

If I were DMing said character, one way I might suggest is to gather up materials and lore to redevelop Karsus' Avatar (the spell that briefly makes you a god) and try to cast is permanently and without blowing up the planet (again). This, especially as the plan nears completion, would likely attract the unhelpful attention of such chaps as Szaz Tam, Larloch, and various high end minions of several gods (Shar and Cyric, of no others). Possibly with the end result of the character either resurrecting Mystra or becoming the most recent incarnation of her.

As a moon elf, the character could probably elicit aide from the Seldarine (Corellon is sort of the elven god of magic) and Mystras surviving Chosen ('surviving' can be taken in a very loose understanding).

...if she ever makes it that far. After all, Shar would probably throw aynthing possible at the character to stop her.
