Just saw this, lol. I swear, KnightErrantJR, my summer calendar reads just like this:
July 10th - Howling Delve release date July 14th - Getting married End of July - Schedule booksigning to recoup wedding debt. ;)

Posted - 16 Feb 2007 : 02:11:33 No, Ergdusch, I don't get any discounts. Nor does Ed (yes folks, he goes out and buys everything!). As for "special offers," I do indeed get lots of those. The ones that involve tongues and tying me down receive my immediate and close attention. Note to the moderators: I am, of course, referring to physiotherapy. At least, I think that's what they're calling it, these days. love to all, THO |

Posted - 04 Feb 2007 : 23:08:36 I am completely sure of only one product - SWORDS OF DRAGONFIRE! All gaming products must be discussed separately in my group, since we all run FR campaigns.
DUNGEONSCAPE is interesting, although I fear it may be just a reprinted and buffed-up version of the DMG's adventuring/dungeon chapters... |

Posted - 04 Feb 2007 : 16:48:24 I'll take it from the top of the list of the link that Dargoth kindly provided:
Elder Evils . . . this one will depend on how many of these are new, and how tied into establilshed worlds they are. I'm sure there will be new threats introduced, but I think this might be a good place to introduce some old ideas into 3.5 terms. It will be worth a look, but I can't say for sure one way or the other.
Anauroch, The Empire of Shade (yeah, I like this title better, wheather they use it or not) . . . definately will be picking this one up. As a side note, I could be completely off, but it sounds like this one might have a bit more source material than the other books are likely to have, but the copy might just be wrong or exagerating.
Grand History of the Realms . . . as Wooly said, I'm likely to take off work at lunchtime as soon as I know this is out and pick it up . . . so yeah, I'm getting this one.
The Rules Compendium . . . I'll definately look up and see what is in it. Its not likely to be on my must buy list, but at the same time, even if the damn thing is just and index of the various rules and where to look them up and perhaps a short form of how they work it would be worth it to pick up.
(At this point, I'll just say, I'm not likely to pick up an Eberron stuff. Nothing personal, but I have my hands full following the Realms and somewhat following DragonLance)
Dungeon Survival Guide . . . doesn't sound like it will have a whole lot in it other than to recap things that might not occur to newer players and DMs, so while I'll not say that the book isn't going to fulfill a need, the need will not be mine.
Inn Fighting . . . okay, I'll admit it. Its not a must buy, but I might pick it up. I played Three Dragon Ante with my kids for hours over Christmas and it was pretty fun, and I like having an "in game" game to play. Not high on the list, but definately not off the list either.
Confessions of a Part-time Sorceress . . . probably not on the list, unless I hear enough that just demands that it is a seminal work that captures the zeitgiest of our roleplaying era, or something like that.
Exemplar of Evil . . . again, I'll have to see what is actually in it. Sounds promising, but I'm not sure exactly how "needed" it will be, so I'll wait until we get a bit closer before making my final decision.
Fortress of the Yuan-Ti . . . don't know for sure, but its on the maybe list, as it should definately be usable for a FR campaign, and even if I don't run it, I could likely mine it for ideas.
Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk . . . nope. I'll gladly be a PC in Greyhawk, but I'm not one to DM there, so the only way I'll end up dealing with this one is from the colorful side of the screen.
Swords of Dragonfire . . . definately, but probably in paperback.
Black Wolf . . . I missed out on Sembia the first time around, so I will definately be here for this round.
The Halflings Gem . . . already have the hardcover collection from way back, so I'm good.
(And another note, I'm not really sure what my DL buying habits will be, so I'll not conjecture)
Monster Manual V . . . probably. I wasn't thrilled with some of the content of the MM IV, but I think with some refinement it could have introduced some good new concepts, so I'll check this one out, especially if they get around to converting some more of the "lost" 1st and 2nd edition monsters that are still up in the air, so to speak.
Shadowdale, The Weave Unwinding (Continuing my trend of picking the sub title I like best) . . . definately will be picking this up, but upon reading the copy on this and knowing that its only about ten pages or so, I'll amend my thoughts somewhat on Anauroch and the idea that it might have more info than Shadowdale and Cormyr.
The Howling Delve . . . definately, especially since Jaleigh promised me a Champaign area book signing that I'm dragging my gaming group to, lol.
The Shattered Mask . . . see Black Wolf above . . .
Road of the Patriarch . . . didn't get it in hardcover, and the comments that I have heard on this one are interesting, so I'll likely pick up the paperback.
The Sinister Spire . . . probably not.
The Silent Blade . . . already have the paperback.
Tapestry of Dark Souls . . . I'd be more likely to pick up these reprints if I knew Ravenloft had some kind of chance of resurging . . . as it is, I, Strad and Vampire of the Mists are likely as far into the reprints as I'm likely to go.
Screams of Stone . . . yup.
Swords of Eveningstar . . . definately.
Expedition to Undermountain . . . oh yeah.
Dungeon Tiles IV . . . haven't gotten any yet . . . my battle mat seems to work fine for me, but who knows. Not a must buy.
Drow of the Underdark . . . Yes, I'll be getting this. Hey, I like using drow villains, what can I say, and at the rate I'm going, this will be out before I finish converting City of the Spider Queen over for my group, lol.
Complete Champion . . . I've liked the second round of Complete books more than I thought I would, so its likely it will find its way home to my desk, but maybe not if I have better things to buy at the same time as its release.
The Gossamer Plain . . . definately.
Best of the Realms III . . . yup.
Streams of Silver . . . see the Halfling's Gem above.
Maya Made Over . . . wow, I've been waiting for this one, I think that . . . er . . . I mean . . . for future reference, no, Star Sisterz aren't on my buying list.
Expedition to the Demonweb Pits . . . maybe, I'll have to see it first and see what else is going on at the time. More likely a candidate for idea mining that acutally running it.
Fantastic Locations: City of Peril . . . probably not, see Dungeon Tiles above.
Unclean . . . oh most definately.
Shadow's Witness . . . see previous Sembia series comments.
(No M:tG novels for me, thank you. I think they just split the reading base for WOTCs other books needlessly anyway)
Unhallowed . . . I'll be getting some packs of these.
Passage to Dawn . . . again, I've got the paperbacks.
Depths of Madness . . . yup.
Barrow of the Forgotten King . . . not likely, though it might be fun.
Sacrifice of the Widow . . . already got it.
Halls of Stormweather . . . yup.
Complete Scoundrel . . . already got it, better than I anticipated.
D&D Icons Blue Dragon . . . I want it, and I want the red and black, but not right now.
That's all I got . . . doesn't look like too bad a year, but I definately will be happy if we get back to more traditional FR sourcebooks over a year full of adventures. |

Posted - 04 Feb 2007 : 14:09:51 Alright after looking at most of the posts here, and to be honest finding the ones enlisting all products way too long to my liking, I will keep it as short as possible.
I will most certainly by the 'grand history'! Such a product deserves all my attention after calling for more 'fluff' and 'lore-containing' products in many of our threads here at candlekeep.
Then I will look at the other FR related products most certainly and might pick them up as well Only exception is Undermountain which diserves a .
For all other setting products, (DL, Eberron, Star wars ect.) no chance! Same goes for the Tiles sets. They are all no-go-areas for me, even though it has nothing to do with the stupidity of WotC (in most cases at least)
For the Core D&D products I have to wait and see...
And the last category - the novels - well, I only buy the paperback versions for financial reasons. But you will most likely find all the FR novels in one of my many shelves eventually.
So much for 'long threads'! |

Posted - 04 Feb 2007 : 06:10:17 Same thing as Victor, I will buy everything Frogotten Realms but I'm especially looking foward for four products:
- Grand History of the Realms - Expedition to Undermountain - Unclean - Depths of Madness
And Swords of Eveningstar wich is not new, but I want them all of the same size on my shelve, so this one will be new for me.

Posted - 03 Feb 2007 : 23:44:53 I'll be picking up the FR-related accessories, and all the FR novels. And since it's my turn for EBERRON products, I'll likely be purchasing those as well. As well as all of the DRAGONLANCE-related products. I'm not too sure about which D&D products I'll be picking up -- Confessions does sound intriguing, and Elder Evils speaks directly to the planar fan inside me. Fortress of the Yuan-Ti, more than likely since I enjoy using yuan-ti in my campaigns. The RAVENLOFT materials will definitely find their way to my shelf. Monster Manual V is still a "wait-and-see" for me. And, as Faraer noted above, the Star Wars Roleplaying Game: Saga Edition.

Faraer |
Posted - 03 Feb 2007 : 22:29:33 For D&D and WotC-related stuff: The Realms game products, Swords of Dragonfire and Best of the Realms III, maybe other novels. Dungeon Survival Guide and Confessions of a Part-time Sorceress look like they could be fun. I'll give Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk a look. Castle Zagyg: Upper Works (Gygax), forthcoming modules by Rob Kuntz, and The Teeth of Braknash Nour (Gygax/Mentzer) as and when they come out. Star Wars Roleplaying Game: Saga Edition. |

My "number one" will be SWORDS OF DRAGONFIRE, closely followed by Elaine's "Best Of" collection (new EC stories, new EC stories, new EC stories!). love to all, THO
I had actually forgotten that Ed was one of the writing team for the Undermountain book; logical of course, as he wrote the original, but I just didn't think. I am still somewhat hesitant though as there is a limit to how much I can get out of a newer gaming book as I don't run 3ed. I will change my attitude to maybe and wait and see when it comes out.

Posted - 03 Feb 2007 : 15:10:46 I'll definitely be picking up the Best of EC and Swords of Eveningstar when it comes out in paperback. I'll most likely pick up A Grand History of the Realms. There's a decent chance I'll pick up Undermountain. I might pick up the Magic Item Compendium. That's it, though I may well pick up more novels. |

Grand History of the Realms
That's the only role-playing product i will be buying, as for novels, I am on a break from the Realms in that department at the moment unless its Ed. That could change quickly though, so I wont say anything when it comes to whether and when I will buy the new publications. |
