Posted - 08 Feb 2006 : 04:35:41 Over at Enworld Erik Mona just said the following about Realms material in upcoming issues of Dragon
"There's more Realms material on the horizon. Ed Greenwood has sent us the text for his next "Cities of the Realms" installment, but he has not yet gotten us the maps we need to take it to press. I'm hoping to put it in the oversized 30th Anniversary issue, but it remains to be seen if that's going to happen.
I've also got a couple of Eric Boyd articles in the hopper, and some additional Realms goodness coming up. In fact, we're working on one thing I can only describe as "huge," but it is a very ambitious project that has thus far involved a couple of rewrites. It is shaping up to be very much worth the time and effort.

I'll do it, for $100. It's a service charge. |

Posted - 26 Sep 2006 : 01:32:05 That's very good to hear. Let's just hope it is well maintained.
Of course, it also depends on the "type" and "content" of the articles. I'd be way more impressed if this meant lore-filled content with the occasional side-order of stats, though I'm assuming we're going to be presented with mainly "game" articles for FR. Which means stats, rules, more stats, more rules, and well... even more stats and even more rules.

Posted - 08 Feb 2006 : 16:06:08 Hello-
Dungeon has been running some shorter non-adventure articles for a while now - say - 12-15 months or so.
They are in the back - and are designed with the DM in mind. A one-page random 20 people you might find in a dungeon cell; 100 art treasures to add to a dragon hoard type articles - as well as a long series by Monte Cook on world-building and GM-ing ideas and suggestions. Overall - for the few pages that it takes up - a good idea in my opinion. Especially since I have YET to make use of any of the actual adventures. Nothing bad about any of the adventures - but just a simple fact that 1) I don't DM as much and 2) its been an Awfuly long time since I have.

Oooh! Now if only we knew which city is featured next in Ed's article...
And Eric... Is there anything you can possibly share about your "articles in the hopper"?
There's a couple, so I'm not sure which ones Erik is referring to. One was mentioned publicly in Dungeon magazine last summer as "to be published in the future" ... an article detailing the Unseen.
--Eric
Mmmm... Well, the Unseen article is bound to keep Wooly happy .
Oh yes indeedy!
But... Since when does Dungeon run articles? I thought they just did adventures... |

Oooh! Oooh! Pick me! Pick me! It's a city that I'm really looking forward to seeing details on. Can't wait.
I would... but I have a feeling you're likely going to keep the details to yourself just to irritate me George .

Yeah I saw that but I reckon hes refering to Inferno being in Powers of Faerun specficly in chapter 7
From Febuary and Beyond
"Chapter 7: High-Level Challenges. Powerful PCs need powerful adversaries. The D&D game has seen a long line of published adventures featuring formidable villains, and this chapter explores how to use deities, great dragons, rival adventurers, and invading armies as PC challenges in a Forgotten Realms campaign."

Eric's travelling on business at the moment but I'm sure he'll pop in to hint. I note that on the WotC Boards, he stated that the dragon "Inferno" would be making an appearance 'sooner' than Dragons of Faerūn ...
