Posted - 19 Jan 2006 : 03:04:14 After several issues in a row with Realms material, there has been a bit of a dry spell. Erik Mona has promised that there will be more FR material, but its not come out yet. While 341 doesn't appear to start the new golden age of FR in Dragon, there is at least one article of note for Realms fans; the Demonomicon article for this issue features everyone's favorite unholy water vomiting lord of Minotaurs, Baphomet.
There will also be an article on lower CR constructs, construct familiars, and (bah) Warforged components. Also, an ecology of the Inevitable (hopefully with a Realms sidebar, but likely not), and Spellcraft: Pact Magic.

Posted - 20 Jan 2006 : 02:05:05 I liked the Giff, it was the only race I agreed with updating in the article. I don't agree with Scro having a favored class of monk . . . that just seems wrong. They are diciplined, yes, but not spritually focused. I know its not a core class, but Marshal would fit better than monk.
And there was one line in the Greyhawk Dragon entry that said that Greyhawk dragons that travel to other worlds, and those offspring born on other worlds, are referred to as steel dragons. |

Posted - 19 Jan 2006 : 19:32:37 Quite right Wooly, serves me right for not wearing my glasses when I typed it in (thought the December issue was 339, not 338, and the 2 is abviously a typo...*sighs at self*) Edit: As was obviously the a in abviously *sighs even louder and heavier*.
And while I agree that this past-settings issue was a bit too focused on rule-updates (btw, I thought Steel Dragons and Greyhawk Dragons were the same?), I wasn't joking about being pleased with the Giff, there's something about hippo-like extra-terrestrials I can't resist. Especially if they like when things go Ka-BOOOM!! |

But...but...issue 240 had a 3.5-update for the Giff, and Order of the Stick
Actually, that was 339. Myself, I was a bit disappointed that the scro write-up did use the name Dukgash (under Names), but failed to mention Almighty Dukgash. That's kinda like doing a write-up on the githyanki without mentioning Gith... |

Ah... at last!
And it may just give minotaur fans in the Realms another excuse to utilise the details regarding Baphomet in Giantcraft .

Posted - 19 Jan 2006 : 05:33:12 Don't forget the Insectare and the Scro (of all the freaking Spelljammer stuff to update, Insectare and Scro? C'mon!). And don't forget all of the Greyhawk kinda liches . . . I must say last year's campaign classics was a lot more impressive. |

Mostly all of that looks gorgeous to me-I've skipped the past lot of Dragon issues, as I haven't found much interesting in them. |
