Posted - 12 Aug 2005 : 14:23:44 Wow! Another great issue, and a must for us Realms fans. Eric's article on Waterdeep is a trip down memory lane, outlining the many appearances of Waterdeep in print. The interview with Ed was highly enjoyable(complete with a nice photograph of Ed worthy of the cover of GQ ) Elaine's story about Elaith is not to be missed, as well as her treatment of the New Olamn Bard College, which addresses not only the college, but the Moonstars, and some very interesting NPCs. Songsabres of Waterdeep details 5 new spells from the students at New Olamn. |

I think its interesting to note, anyone that may not be piqued by an article about the bard's college in Waterdeep should also know that Elaine details several newly recruited Moonstars and what Khelbun wants to use them for in the article as well.
Due to the amount of reading I've had to do an Hinduism and Jainism this week (darn education), I've barely scratched the surface of City of Splendors, but one of the "recruits" detailed in Elaine's article has already made an appearance in the book, which I might add is excellent so far. |

Posted - 20 Aug 2005 : 01:11:48 Am i the only one curious of what they could do with the rest of Toril? As it been said somewhere at sometime that these continents would never see materials dedicated to it? I'm probably the only one that thinks Faerun has been covered enough to support my own campaigns. I can fill the rest of the details but these continents nag my attention away. I would really love to have just an overview of the kind of civilisations that live on them. One book for them all, scratching the surface and giving an macro overview of what can be found there. I know i am dreaming but that would make my day, my year...my decade.

I could speculate, but I'd be doing so quite mendaciously.

Well since issue 315 was so well received, they did decide to make that a yearly event. So there's going to be one issue a year dedicated to old settings. :) |

Krash, I believe my gaming store still has one or two extra copies available of Eric's "grand work"... .
I'll check back later today on my way home from work and I'll let you know for sure. If you still can't find a copy, I'll purchase an extra issue and mail it to you .

Posted - 19 Aug 2005 : 04:02:11 Hi all,
One thing that was of particular interest for me can be found in an answer to a letter in the letters section.
Quoting the editor:
«...we have a lot of exciting things on the horizon, including more cities from Ed Greenwood, more articles from the likes of Eric L. Boyd and perhaps even some exploration of the lands beyond Faerun?»
Speculations? Would this be some articles about Kara-Tur, Maztica and Al-Qadim in the old campaigns issue or could this mean they will go explore those nameless continents we can see on the global map in the FRCS? I wonder, do you?

Sorry Eric, I just don't run premade adventures and I like Dragon better. :) Nothing against you. I did like your article though. Besides, it's got a story about Elaith! Enough said. :) |

Posted - 13 Aug 2005 : 00:34:11 I've never bought a copy of Dragon before but this will definitely be my first, I've been waiting for this for a while. There's just the small matter of it arriving on these shores and then me going somewhere which stocks it. |

Ditto, on both counts. My FLGS says they won't get the new Dragon for 2 more weeks. |
