Posted - 24 Nov 2004 : 18:02:41 Just in time for the holidays, WOTC has a new online survey for D&D Players which can be found here.
If any scribe wins a prize after following the link I posted, I only have one word for such a person...commission. |

Thanks!

Hmm, I think I might already be on the list for this. I know every few months or so I get an Email with a link to a survey.
If they allow you to share that link, PM me with it, if you don't mind.
Its a link specifically for me, unfortunately.
But this is the Page for the D&D Advisory Panel http://www.dndadvisorypanel.com/default.asp so might be able to sign up via this link |

it is unfortunate that they are not paying as much attention to international fans, but not unforseen. People with marketing degrees like big markets that perform with consistency. I don't see why it would be a problem to have a foriegn language advisory panel though... one would think that you could expand your markets, or perhaps print foriegn only titles that specifically target the needs of non-american fans. |

When I when to the wizards website, I got a hole series of questions yesterday it was a vary large survey and I let my preference for Realms material be known. At the end I was asked to join an advisory panel that will be given more surveys this year. I think that they should pay more attention to fans outside the USA also.
Strange, they only asked for my age, and how often I played D&D and since when. Finally there was a box for suggestions. Being from Germany, I ask myself if there are more questions for american Gamers than for the international ones? |

The old one isn't up any more. To get the new one, reload the main page over and over again and hope and pray. |

Posted - 30 Jan 2006 : 04:57:25 Okay, they're doing these again, on randomly selected loadings of the main D&D page.
I got one.
Now, is "Rehire Steven Schend and commission George Krashos to do an Impiltur sourcebook" a good thing to stuff in the comments box? |

I just got the one question when i went through the survey, however, I went through again and left the country as US and got more questions... it appears that WotC are only interested in the information from American residents.
Ah! that could explain it: I clicked "Country: Canada"
Nice to know WotC is targeting people by geography and has given up on online distribution... But in all seriousness, it is rather disappointing to know that the next wave of products will be targeted for the American gamer by the American gamer...
In their defense, the US prolly is their biggest market... But still, they should be at least a bit more concerned with what the rest of their customers want. |

I should have, because when I answered that I was not a marketer or related to one (or a retailer, distributor), the survey screen suddenly announced: "Tell us how D&D can be improved", then the next screen was a "Thanks for your time" message...
If I would have answered that I was a marketer, perhaps I would have seen other questions. Therefore, I should have had: this way perhaps I would have uncovered the true purpose of this survey...
Then again, maybe it was a mere suggestion box survey, with no pre-made questions...
Strange, I gave the same information you did and got a number of additional questions. |

I see making Senior Scribe has made someone even more lippy.

Try giving them one additional "more FR" chant for this survey. I know I added some FR comments at the end when asked to provide comments. |
