It simply makes Adelaide the best place to live in Australia. Although I am quite partial to Perth.

Keeping on topic though... What was the price for each of these issues, in Australian tender? I still haven't purchased the copy I'm missing, so I'd like to know how much to set aside for it.

When I finally run the campagin (Might try and run it in conjuction with the City of Splendors source book when it comes out) Ill be tying the story to the events in ECs novel thornhold (Which will explain why Sir Justins set up another keep near the Mere)

Hopefully Ed and Eric will have covered some the Paladin orders present in Waterdeep in COS *cross fingers8

Because that ain't how names of the Realms have been established to be for decades, and names are one of the main ways a world communicates its nature. Ed's names in particular are distinctive and recognizable. Using Earth names instead shows disrespect to the setting's creator and all his years of work; it shows how poorly you understand the world you're writing for; and it encourages players to slip into habitual Earth-style thinking by breaking the Faerūnian illusion. It's bad shared-world writing in every way.

Use of English elements in place and character names is a different thing, and something the Realms does do.

Meh. Why not? One of the things I have always went agaisnt was the use of just plain gibberish to make a setting seem exotic. Why call the valley some tongue twister, then say "Or black adder canyon, in our language", why have such a poor illusion? I mean, the players don't sit around speaking chondathan, why not call a character Justin, and the in game character's name be the equivelant.

Good as "Eye of Myrkul" is, I flinched each time the name 'Justin' came up. Realms folk are not called Justin! Not Eric's name, of course, but editors should know their main campaign settings better.

It's been a while and I don't have access to the modules off the top of my head, but I can give you the feel.

First, if you review the write-up of the Mere of Dead Men in VGttN (available for free on WoTC site), you'll find a lot of monsters and sites mentioned therein are detailed in the modules. In effect, the series fully fleshes out Ed's vision of the Mere, "covering" 90% of the locations and creatures alluded to in those 2 or 3 pages.

The idea of the modules is that a paladin and his followers have taken over the Ruins of Iniarv's Tower (just east of the Mere of Dead Men) and are attempting to keep the road clear for merchant traffic. Something is happening in the depths of the swamp that is displacing concentric circles of swamp dwellers, leading to increased danger along the roads.

In the first four modules, Sir Justin employs the party to go after one threat or another in the depths of the swamp. IIRC, there's a ruined manor house overrun by creepy crawlies, a tribal encampment of lizardmen, an arcanist academy, and a ruined temple, but I might be misremembering the last.

In the fifth module (written by me), the "usual" is turned on its head, and the party gets a new "patron" and a new reason for going into the swamp. You learn all about the history of ancient Uthtower and a draconic cult that followed on afterwords. Of course success is a mixed bag, as the heroes may end up creating more problems then they solved. You can infer more here (spoilers aplenty): http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/wn/20040310a

I managed to get some of the issues from Paizo (eventually, had a minor problem with them sending me something completely different initially) to compliment the ones I picked up from ebay and I have to say I'm not disappointed. I've only run Slave Vats so far but the feedback from my group was positive and I'm very much looking forward to getting stuck into the rest over Christmas.

And that's good to, to finally be able to complete the collection, because it's one of my favorite FR Dungeon adventures, which also was very popular with the groups I gamed with several years ago .
