Oh, very well. Keep in mind, however, that non-disclosure agreements, even verbal ones, may jump out and prevent my full discussion of the matter:

The next book is entitled <NDA>'s Small NDA. It is a spellbook containing spells by a former <NDA> from <NDA>, and also details a very interesting <NDA> form that the last known owner possessed.

The book to follow is just as interesting, this time with a <NDA> as its las known owner.

In all seriousness, all I can really share is that the upcoming spellbooks contain new takes on some old friends. Put that in your pipe and smoke it...

And no, there are no pipes involved.

Umm, I do. And the one after that, as it so happens.

Both are very interesting additions to the Realms, as far as I'm concerned, and both contain some suprises for those who like them.

You can't just leave it at that... You have to provide us with something... even if it's just a name...?

Well met

Indeed! Haste, Scribes! Pin Garen Thal down, the information must be extracted

Thank you for the link, my oft-sarcastic friend.

I really like this one. The idea of having stories and then spells associated with them is a truly nifty one, and how oft do we see gnomish magic? Very creative -- my hat's off to SKR.

Anyone know what his next offering will be?

A new magic book has been put up over on the WOTC site.

I could do that, but I don't know how it would go, space-wise. The first one, the one that's actually complete, is four single-spaced pages... I covered her history, habits, personality, how she became a Lord... Everything but a stat block!

Not a problem then . In fact, now that I think about, I'm fairly certain you've mentioned this fact about the Lords before, and that I've offered my assistance before as well... .

I likely have mentioned it before. It's been an on-again, off-again project for the last few months, mostly due to time constraints.

I want to finish though, so I can share it all here!

I have the book. If you're just looking for basic information, or bits and pieces, I'd be glad to assist you (privately).

I do plan on getting the book, I just need to cut some finances loose to do it. The guy in question will be some sort of psionicist, but I'm not sure exactly what kind yet. I'll need to just flip thru the book and let my creative juices flow... Since that guy is last on the list (unless I go back to the original idea of doing that fifth one), I'm in no hurry. I do thank you for the offer, though.

The adventure hook in particular makes me want to re-organise another campaign in and around Waterdeep, even considering the 4-month long campaign I ran around the City of Splendors last year...

Move to Florida, and I'll participate in it!

If you can wait a few more months (most likely two), the entire campaign will be released as a free download online in PDF format. Some of you may remember me mentioning this about the same time last year, however, there were difficulties with some of the maps, charts, and some of the campaign specific information needed to be changed to correspond to the actual Realms, and not my interpretation of it.

In any event, the work will soon be ready. Keep an eye out for it (I'll likely let those scribes interested in the campaign know here at Candlekeep anyway) .

Ah... this is indeed a worthy addition to any FR archive.

Ah, finally the Waterdeep book. I am a happy hamster, indeed.

I like the fact that the book contains notes on Waterdhavian portals, and I like even more that Bren took the book entirely by accident -- that works better than yet another person stealing a magic book and fleeing with it.

Note: to forestall any attacks, I'm not saying SKR has done that. I'm just saying it's a common enough idea, so it's nice to see something different.
Bookwyrm Posted - 20 Oct 2004 : 05:52:39
Bren Greycastle sounds a little like Ashimar Len, the NPC from the Jack Archer story. Except that instead of using magic as force, Ashimar uses it as a way to dominate people. Anyway, I'm glad there's now a precedent to this sort of disaffected member of the Order. Now I just have to get around to making a profile on him.

Dearest me, two of my predictions coming true at once. The Waterdeep book arriving in October, and... what was that other one?

Thanks for the heads up GK!

Hey, it's our Waterdeep article. And an article with a very nice adventure hook.
