WotC has just posted a WotSQ-related interview with Philip Athans. A character profile of Valas Hune can also be found here.

I'm surprised they seriously considered the idea that the Queen of the Demonweb Pits novelization affected Realms continuity. Not only are Realms-Lolth and Greyhawk-Lolth not the same (and weren't in 2nd edition), not only are the settings even more separated in 3E, but the novel isn't even part of official Greyhawk continuity in so far as there currently is one, and if it was the correlation of Toril and Oerth years means its effects would have been felt decades earlier in the Realms timeline!

And the Watercourse trilogy sounds like another damn RSE that, if the canal is successful, will make the Realms more modern and linked-up and less wild and fantastic.

There is a thread devoted to the new triology in the novels section. Thomas M. Reid passed along some information from Philip Athans.

Thank you sl.Well met and welcome to The Keep.I liked the article, but darn it if there wasn't spoilers in it.A few things jumped out that I didn't know because I haven't read Extinction yet.I didn't know that Gromph was blind.Alas I was spoiled.Doesn't matter I'll read them anyways. Also any one hear any other news about Phil's new trilogy that was mentioned????Or is this all news to us all????
