I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts about the Star Elves, Sirius... Although perhaps another scroll would be more appropriate for that discussion.

Sirius winces. I've been forgetting to refer to him as OSA Drizzt. Looking up at Arivia, "Forgive?"
Yes, yes, I forgive. |

Posted - 24 Apr 2004 : 06:27:58 As far as I am aware, the drow city of Ust Natha, was simply a creation for the CRPG Baldur's Gate. It is not detailed in any of the various tomes on the Underdark from either edition.

Give him time and let him write a few more FR books and I'm sure he'd manage to finish off the rest of Faerun. :) |

Posted - 07 Apr 2004 : 06:53:14 Nope, that was the creator of OSA Drizzt.
Quite a few FR authors did some interesting things to the Star Wars timeline... |

Was he the one that killed Chewbacca too? Or was that the creator of Drizzt? |

Ah, the author on the first three is pen name and I forgot who the original authors are. Some one will hopefully post the info, since I'm old school and have the original novels. :) |

LOL! What hole? According to online "fans" of OSA Drizzt, the novel this year will conclude with:
1. Drizzt becoming a God 2. Drizzt becoming a chosen of some God. 3. Drizzt dying. 4. Drizzt retiring 5. Drizzt deciding to open up an all night diner in Waterdeep.
Okay, the last one was my creation. But, seriously, all the others I've heard speculated/predicted/pondered, etc. Thus, anything is possible. Although I'll go out on a limb right now and say OSA Drizzt will not open up a diner. |

Only time will tell on the deity thing. No idea on the proper way of pronouncing his name. If someone else can't help you out, you can check out the author's web page. He has a forum there where I'm sure the very topic has come up. |

Short answer: in the Underdark.
Longer answer: The drow do not dominate any one geographical region. They have city-states scattered all over the place, but rarely control much past a day or two's travel outside their city.
Most of the races of the Underdark are like that. The Underdark isn't like the surface world, where everything is relatively flat and easy to move across. In the Underdark, you've got caverns and tunnels. Two cities may be a handful of miles away from each other, but it could still require days to actually travel that distance, because of the way the tunnels are laid out, and because the cities may not even be on the same rough level -- one might be two miles deeper than the other, for example.
That's why there's a lot of indepedent cities, but not very many nations, in the Underdark. |
