Salvatore Continues Story Lines For Tsr's Forgotten Realms
August 7, 1997 (Renton, Wash.)--In a new cooperative partnership between Random House's Ballantine Del Rey division and Wizards of the Coast Inc., R.A. Salvatore is once again writing for TSR Inc. In 1998, Salvatore will begin developing a new novel under TSR's Forgotten RealmsŪ fantasy setting. Signature characters for the novel include Drizzt Do'Urden, Wulfgar, Regis and Artemis Entreri.
"We are thrilled by the prospect of working with Bob on his newest addition to the Forgotten Realms series," said Mary Kirchoff, executive editor of the Book Publishing group at Wizards of the Coast. "It was during his initial partnership with TSR that Bob created his first success, The Crystal Shard. We're looking forward to reading his next novel, set in the Realms."
Kuo-Yu Liang, associate publisher at Ballantine Del Rey, fostered the agreement that will include cross promotions in Salvatore's novels, produced by both Wizards of the Coast and Ballantine Del Rey. Salvatore has rung up an impressive list of New York Times bestsellers with TSR and is committed to continuing that tradition.
Early in his writing career, Salvatore was best known for his stirring battle scenes, inventive story lines and extraordinary characters. In North America alone, over three million of Salvatore's novels have been sold with many translated into different languages and audio versions. Salvatore's previously published TSRŪ novels include Icewind Dale Trilogy, The Dark Elf Trilogy, The Cleric Quintet, The Legacy, Starless Night, Siege of Darkness and Passage to Dawn.
